THE RIGHT TO SURVIVE

THE RIGHT TO SURVIVE

I have often tried to look into the  mind setting of various people.

While we grow up, we are  highly influenced by our parents.  They bring up their children according to their beliefs of what is right and what is wrong.  Most of the parents come under this category. There are a very few parents who like to bring up their children as free birds, giving them only a true picture of the world and help them to make their own conclusions when they grow up.

But since a very good majority of the parents come under the first category,  our society is filled with people who think alike - that is a bunch of self centered people who think about themselves and their kith and kin.

This does not mean that the inheritants of the second category will become ideal citizens.  But there is more chance for them to become ideal citizens.

The famous Tamil poet Sri Subramania Bharathi once quoted:  Thani oruvanukku unavillaiyentral Jagathinai azhithiduvom.  The meaning is - " If an individual does not have food, then we will destroy this world ".

Bharathiyar points out that if a man is starving while the others are eating, then we don't deserve to live in this world.  The outcome of this thought is  that while we eat, we should make sure  the others get their food.

Let us pray for a world in which food becomes the right of every human being. Let us move for the right to survive.
